Blue quilt: a short update

I have finally added a row to the bottom of the blue quilt:

One more row on the bottom and one more row going down the left side, plus border, and the quilt top will be FINISHED. Exciting. Soon ("soon" is a relative term; "sometime in the next two months" might be more accurate) I'm going to buy some navy cotton; a lot of the dark blue in this quilt is rayon and so is stretching like mad. Time for a quilt store field trip.

A few asides: I spent the weekend camping with church kids, and had a fantastic time. You can see a few photos here, here and here. My birthday was on the last day of the trip -- I had a hilariously fun day -- ending equally hilariously with free shots with our waiter at the Duke of Argyle:

Unrelated

Clouds

This week I have very little to report on the Crafting Front. I'm about to start the heel of Sock Two; I'm very, very slowly adding a row to the blue quilt; that's all. Nothing picture-worthy, though I really DO hope to a quilt picture soon. I'm starting to feel like the girl who cried quilt. I blame tutoring (in the far north -- Don Mills and Sheppard) and random weekend busyness (notably the Nidus festival) for distracting me from making newsworthy progress.

The (unrelated) pic above is one of my recent favs -- some sunset clouds from my trip to Oklahoma.

A present

I am very pleased to report that someone gave ME a dishcloth!

A dishcloth by Allison (MDK pattern)

Allison Guy knit this using the pattern from the MDK book. I'm excited to try it out for my next dishcloth.

Knitten update (2)

I had hoped to have blue quilt progress for you by this time, but I don't. This is why:

In other news, Lady Catherine, shown here in one of her calmer moments,
